We participated in the temporary association of designers, AWJGGRAUaDVVTAT, selected to organize the Belgian pavilion at the International Architecture Biennale in Venice 2012. The mandate was issued by the Flemish Architecture Institute and the Flemish government Architect to develop an exhibition concept that reveals the essence of the flemish territory.
We examined the relationship between the ‘empty’ (agriculture, nature) and the urbanization under the theme of ‘productive landscape’ conducting a «research by design» through the production of two large scale maps, aiming to reveal, in a closer and more communicative way, the physical specificities and potentials of the territory. The two maps focused on two different parts of the flemish territory : the corridor between Antwerp and Brussels and Southern Limburg.
