Le Perray

The new district of la Perche aux Mares is located on a natural site at the border of the Rambouillet forest.
It must have a minimal impact on the site, with a project entirely built on stilts, while still creating a new urbanity, an extension of the existing town with an optimal balance between individual quality and collective framework.

Three elements define the plan for the new neighborhood.
1. The connected promenade is public walkway that sets the limit between the city and the forest. Designed as a public space, it aims to make the forest accessible to all.
2. Three collective barns, inspired by the local architecture, constitute the main meeting and exchange places of the neighborhood where residents and inhabitants of le Perray meet.
Engawa and rural rooms : the neighborhood is structured around a series of rural rooms, framed by a network of elevated walkways, that offer a reduced scale of collective life.
